Natalie Hunt

Director

Hello, I’m Natalie, one of the Directors at Family and Therapy. I’m a BAPT registered Play Therapist (R) dedicated to the well-being of children aged 3-12. I have a wealth of experience and expertise.

I specialise in trauma informed practice with children and their families, as well as having a vast experience with other difficulties such as behaviour, developmental, social and emotional, attachment, bereavement and event traumas.

Having earned my MSc in Play Therapy in 2021, my journey has spanned over 15 enriching years in early years settings, teaching, and schools, including both mainstream and behaviour specialist environments. My educational foundation is grounded in a degree in Early Years Education, followed by a Postgraduate degree in Primary Education (PGCE).

My expertise is grounded in working with children struggling with a spectrum of emotional issues rooted in diverse life experiences. I engage directly with children on a one-to-one basis, as well as extending support to parents/carers. Through collaborative sessions, I help parents/carers gain insight into the child’s lived experience from their perspective as well as their own parenting styles to understand how their own childhood experiences impact their approach. This knowledge becomes a powerful tool for parents/carers to adapt and enhance their children’s behaviour and needs.

Qualifications, Experience and Professional Trainings:

My commitment to ongoing professional development, safety, confidentiality and creating an empathic, compassionate, non-judgemental atmosphere, while employing the fundamental principles of Play Therapy, create a nurturing space where children can explore themselves and their experiences through the transformative power of play. This process unfolds naturally, allowing the child to instigate change using carefully selected toys, resources, and materials that aid in processing emotional difficulties.

I am fully insured, DBS checked and a Registered Member of the British Association of Play Therapists (BAPT).
