Aileen Brindley

I am Co-Director of The Family&Therapy Place and a fully qualified Children’s Counsellor and Adult Psychotherapist. Over the past few years I have gained a significant amount of experience in helping alleviating distress through my counselling work in private practice, in MIND and in GP surgeries across Swansea.

Prior to this, my previous roles include being a primary school teacher and educational consultant. My therapeutic approach is based on a person-centred, emotion-focused approach with adults and young people. With children I use therapeutic play and creativity, drawing on current best practice approaches, Gestalt theory and attachment theory.

I am a parent of three children, all now grown up, and have experienced fully both the joys and agonies of parenting, and the pain of coping when things go wrong in family relationships. My own life experiences have led to a lifelong commitment to using my knowledge and experience to help others who are struggling emotionally, especially with relationships.

The services I offer are –
